Manglis Clean Up

Our team is spearheading a volunteer campaign to clean up Manglis Lake, a serene oasis alongside the Pediaios River and a treasured gem in the Municipality of Lakatamia. Known for its calming and relaxing ambiance, Manglis Lake is part of a thriving biotope that has developed over the past fifty years following the construction of a nearby dam. The lake is home to a diverse ecosystem, including fish, crayfish, aquatic plants, and a variety of birds, some of which are rare and migratory species observed by the Ornithological Association of Cyprus.

As a popular spot for families and children, the lake’s cleanliness is vital. Regrettably, the area has suffered from neglect. In response, our team has committed to a clean-up effort, dedicating time to restore the lake’s natural beauty. We aim not only to rejuvenate this important biotope but also to raise awareness within the local community and the public at large about the importance of such environments. By leading this initiative, we hope to foster a greater sense of responsibility and care for natural spaces like Manglis Lake
